Tree Safety and Drainage Improvement Works Underway at Buxted Recreation Ground
07/07/2026
Buxted Parish Council would like to inform residents and users of Buxted Recreation Ground, Framfield Road, Buxted that important tree safety works and football pitch drainage improvements are currently underway.
Following a recent inspection by a qualified arboricultural professional, a number of trees at the recreation ground have been identified as requiring attention due to the effects of Ash Dieback disease. To ensure the continued safety of visitors, the necessary remedial works are being carried out by a qualified and experienced tree surgeon.
During this period, members of the public are asked to exercise caution and keep well clear of working areas, machinery and any temporary safety barriers that may be in place. Parents and guardians are particularly reminded to ensure that children are supervised at all times while visiting the recreation ground.
The Parish Council is also pleased to announce that significant drainage improvement works are currently being undertaken on the football pitch. These works represent an important investment in the facility and are aimed at improving playing conditions and reducing disruption caused by wet weather.
It is hoped that the enhanced drainage system will greatly benefit Buxted Football Club and help ensure a more reliable fixture schedule during the forthcoming season.
Councillors recognise that these works may cause some temporary inconvenience but are confident the long-term benefits to the recreation ground and its users will be substantial.
The Parish Council thanks residents and visitors for their patience and cooperation while these improvement works are completed.
